Korovessi’s practice materializes the ancient Greek concept of μέτρον (metron) —the cosmic measure that governs both language and form—through a rigorous methodology that transposes the acoustic signatures of spoken λόγος (logos) into bronze and steel, producing works that inhabit the liminal space where language transforms into form, and where balance and imbalance exist not as opposites but as generative forces in perpetual dialogue.

Aggelika Korovessi was born in Pyrgos, Elis, in 1952 and lives and works in Athens. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) under a state scholarship, graduating with three distinctions and continued her studies at the Laboratories of Special Studies in Ceramics, Plasterwork, Bronze Casting, and in the Department of Theoretical and Historical Studies at ASFA, obtaining the respective degrees. She was awarded the honorary title of “Anthropologist – Sculptor” by the Anthropological Society of Greece for her work in the rescue, restoration, and representation of anthropological skeletal findings in the Petralona Cave in Chalkidiki.
