The monument was created in Memory and Honor of the Execution of 130 Greeks by the occupiers in 1944 in the area of Karakolithos, in Livadeia of Boeotia, and for the National Resistance. The form of the composition followed the shape of the massive rock that graces one of the surrounding hills.
Its composition consists of an execution wall that is also a wall of the regeneration of more fighters. The empty figures denote the executed heroes. Gradually the gaps are filled and at its edge, the wall opens and three figures jump out. The leading figure was magnified and succeeded as the National Resistance did. The composition is mainly two-sided so that it can be seen from quite a distance on the motorway. The magnificent supernatural size of the fighter inspires awe in the viewer who approaches the monument and symbolises the power of the National Resistance and its value. The uniforms they wear represent the various groups of citizens who were executed as well as the fighters of the National Resistance
