Communication
1988 AthensFor Aggelika Korovessi, communication is the central theme of her art. The public sculpture “Communication” (1988), which was installed at a busy intersection in Athens, consisted of a series of stainless steel poles or antennas, symbolizing the lack of communication in the urban city. In the 1990s, she investigated the anatomy of a universal language produced by phonetic symbols for words spoken by different people. […] Her works explore how we all speak, sense, and perceive the meaning of a common language in its spatial, sonic, and visual dimensions.
